Websites for architects and surveyors

What an architect or surveyor website has to do

A homeowner planning an extension or buying a house isn't choosing in a hurry, and they won't hire on the strength of a logo. They want to see work like theirs, know you're properly registered and find out how the job starts and what it costs to start it.

So the site shows finished projects and says plainly what you do, and a short enquiry form asks about the property and the job. You reply with a conversation or a quote, and it never feels like a leap.

Getting found for the work people search for

People type architect near me, house extension plans, loft conversion plans, planning permission drawings, RICS home survey, building survey or party wall surveyor, almost always with a town on the end. Each is a different job with a different buyer.

You get a page for each service you want more of, written around those words, so a person planning a loft conversion lands on a page about loft conversions. Titles, descriptions, a sitemap and structured data go in when the site is built, so a search engine can see what you do and where.

Registration, insurance and what to show

Architect is a protected title in the UK, and architects register with the Architects Registration Board, so your ARB number belongs on the site. Many also show RIBA chartered membership. Surveyors are often chartered with RICS, and a RICS regulated firm can say so.

Your professional indemnity insurance and how you handle a complaint go there too. They're the things a careful client checks before paying a fee for a design or a survey, and your website specialist puts them in plain words without giving legal advice.

How your practice website gets built

You answer a few questions about your practice, the work you want more of and the areas you cover. A homepage design comes back in under five minutes. You look at it first, with no card and nothing to install.

Then one of our website specialists builds it out with you: a page for each service, a gallery of finished projects, your registration and insurance, all checked on a phone and a laptop and then live on your own domain. A new project or service is a message afterwards. You pay nothing until the site goes live.

What happens when somebody gets in touch

Every page has your number and an enquiry form. The form asks what you'd ask on a first call: the address, what they want to do, whether the property is listed or in a conservation area and when they hope to start. It can take photographs of the property too.

The enquiry lands in your email within seconds. With the customer hub add-on it lands in your hub too, with a status you can set to contacted, won or lost, so you can see who is still waiting to hear from you.

Architects and surveyors ask us

Will it actually rank for "architect near me"?

Your site launches with a page for each of your main services, written around what your clients type. We put the technical bits in too: titles, descriptions, structured data and a sitemap, so Google can see what you do and where. Where you end up depends on your area and your competition. The SEO and AI search add-on keeps adding new content every week, and it builds over months, not days.

Can I show my ARB number and my RIBA or RICS membership?

Yes. Architects register with the Architects Registration Board, and your number, your chartered membership and your insurance go on the pages a client reads before they get in touch. Surveyors can show RICS membership or a RICS regulated firm status in the same way.

I do both design and surveys. How does the site handle that?

Each gets its own pages. Somebody searching for loft conversion plans and somebody searching for a building survey before they buy want different answers, so they land on different pages, and your registration for each sits on its own.

How should I show projects I've finished?

As a gallery, with a line on each saying what it was, where and what you did. Before and after photographs of an extension answer a client's question faster than a paragraph of text, and a project near their own street answers it better still.

Can the enquiry form ask about the property?

Yes. It can ask the address, what they want to do, whether the property is listed or in a conservation area and when they hope to start, and it can take photographs. You can see whether it's worth a call before you pick up the phone.

Can clients send me large plan files through the site?

A secure client area for large files is a bespoke build, so it isn't part of the standard plans. Photographs go through the enquiry form, and for larger files tell us what you need and we'll talk it through with you.

Can I put my fees on the site?

Yes, if you want to. Some practices give a starting fee for a survey or a fixed fee for a feasibility study, and some say fees depend on the job. Either goes on the page, and your website specialist can change it whenever you ask.

Can I add a service later?

Yes. Up to 10 service pages come with your website, one for each service you offer. Ask from your portal whenever you like and it goes to your website specialist to write. Tell them the service and the words you want it found for.

How long until my website is live?

Complete your brief and we launch within 3 to 5 working days. Most architects and surveyors are live within a week of signing up.

When do I start paying?

On the day your website goes live. You enter card details at signup, but nothing is charged before launch. If your site is ready and we do not hear from you for 14 days, we take the first payment, so your website specialist's work is not left sitting there. You can still go live whenever you are ready.

Is this a template?

No. Everything is built from scratch for your business: your words written, your logo and colours designed, your homepage laid out. One of our website specialists finishes the site with you before it goes live.

Do I need a card to see the design?

No. Answer a few questions and you will see a homepage design for your business in under five minutes. There is nothing to download, nothing to set up, and no card until you decide to go ahead.

Can I have a page for each job I do?

Yes, for the jobs you want more of. Tell your website specialist which those are. Each one gets its own page, written to be found for the words people type when they need it. Every plan includes up to 10, one for each service you offer, and you can ask for a new one from your portal at any time.
