Websites for care agencies

What a care agency's website has to do

The person reading is usually not the person who needs care. It's a daughter or a son, often after a hospital stay or a bad fall, looking at several agencies in an evening and trying to work out who they can trust with a parent. They want to know what you do, whether you cover their area, how fast you can start and who will actually walk through the door.

So your services, your area and your number are on every screen, with a form for people who would rather write than ring. Your registration and your inspection rating are where a worried relative will see them. The tone is warm and plain, with no jargon.

Getting found for care at home in your area

People type home care, domiciliary care agency, live in carer, carers for elderly parents, dementia care at home or respite care, nearly always with a town or a postcode. Many have never bought care before and don't know the trade words, so they describe the situation.

You get a page for each kind of care you want more of, written around both sets of words: help with washing and dressing, visiting care, live-in care, dementia care, respite, and care after hospital. Page titles, descriptions, a sitemap and structured data go in when we build it, so Google can see what you provide and where.

Registration, inspection ratings and what a family must see

In England, an agency providing personal care has to be registered with the Care Quality Commission. In Scotland the regulator is the Care Inspectorate, in Wales Care Inspectorate Wales, and in Northern Ireland the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority. Your registration and your latest rating go on the site, and CQC rules also expect providers to display their rating on their own website. We don't give regulatory advice, so check the current requirements with your regulator.

Families also look for how you recruit and train, whether staff have been through Disclosure and Barring Service checks, whether you run a complaints procedure, and whether you belong to a body such as the United Kingdom Homecare Association. Say what is true of you, in plain words, and keep it up to date.

How your care agency website gets built

You answer a few questions about your agency, the care you provide and the areas you cover. A homepage design comes back, usually in under five minutes, and you look at it before anything else happens. There's no card and nothing to install.

Then one of our website specialists builds it with you: your services, your area, your registration and rating, how you recruit and train, and how to get in touch, checked on a phone and a laptop, then live on your own domain. After that, a new rating or a new service is a message to them. You pay nothing until the site goes live.

What happens when a family gets in touch

Every page has your number and an enquiry form. The form asks what you'd ask first on the phone: who the care is for, what help they need, where they live and when they want to start. It shouldn't ask for health details you don't need at that stage.

The enquiry lands in your email within seconds. With the customer hub add-on it lands in your hub too, with a status you can set to contacted, assessed or started, so a family who wrote on Sunday night isn't waiting until Wednesday. Your website specialist sets the questions up with you before launch and changes them whenever you ask.

Care agencies ask us

Will families find us when they search for home care near them?

Your site launches with a page for each of your main kinds of care, written around what families type, with the technical bits in too: titles, descriptions, structured data and a sitemap. Where you end up depends on your area and your competition. The SEO and AI search add-on keeps adding new content every week, and it builds over months, not days. Google Maps helps you show up for care agency near me.

Do we have to show our inspection rating?

In England, the Care Quality Commission expects registered providers to display their rating on their website, and the other nations have their own regulators. We don't give regulatory advice, so check what your regulator requires. Send your website specialist the rating and the date and it goes where a family will see it, and they can update it after each inspection.

We cover several towns. Do we need a page for each?

If you want to be found in each, yes. Someone typing home care with a town name wants to see that you come to that town. Your website specialist writes a page for each area you serve and keeps each one true to what you actually cover.

Can the site say how we recruit and check our carers?

Yes, and families look for it. Tell your website specialist how you recruit, which checks you run, such as Disclosure and Barring Service checks and references, and how you train and supervise. Only what is true goes on, and a page of it is worth more than a line on the homepage.

Can the enquiry form stay light on personal details?

Yes. It can ask who the care is for, roughly what help is needed, the postcode and when they want to start, and leave health details for your assessment. Your website specialist sets it up with you. Keep it to what you need to make the first call.

We need to recruit carers as well as win clients. Can the site do both?

Yes. A careers page is one of your service pages, written for people searching for care jobs in your town, with the hours, the pay you're willing to publish and a short form. It's a separate page, so it never gets in the way of a family looking for care.

Can families log in to see rotas or care notes?

No, that isn't part of the standard plans. A secure portal for families or carers, and anything that holds care records, is a bespoke build and needs proper thought about data protection. Tell us what you need and we'll talk it through with you.

Can I add a kind of care later?

Yes. Up to 10 service pages come with your website, one for each kind of care you offer. Ask from your portal whenever you like and it goes to your website specialist to write. Tell them what it is and how families describe it.

Can you change the page when our rating changes?

Yes. Send them the new rating and they update it. That's a change request. You get one free every month after launch, and any more are £49.99 each, shown before you confirm.

How long until my website is live?

Complete your brief and we launch within 3 to 5 working days. Most care agencies are live within a week of signing up.

When do I start paying?

On the day your website goes live. You enter card details at signup, but nothing is charged before launch. If your site is ready and we do not hear from you for 14 days, we take the first payment, so your website specialist's work is not left sitting there. You can still go live whenever you are ready.

Is this a template?

No. Everything is built from scratch for your business: your words written, your logo and colours designed, your homepage laid out. One of our website specialists finishes the site with you before it goes live.

Do I need a card to see the design?

No. Answer a few questions and you will see a homepage design for your business in under five minutes. There is nothing to download, nothing to set up, and no card until you decide to go ahead.

Can I have a page for each job I do?

Yes, for the jobs you want more of. Tell your website specialist which those are. Each one gets its own page, written to be found for the words people type when they need it. Every plan includes up to 10, one for each service you offer, and you can ask for a new one from your portal at any time.
