Websites for heating and gas engineers

What a heating and gas engineer's website has to do

Heating work is bought in two moods. One is a cold house and a boiler that won't fire, and the customer wants a number to ring now. The other is a planned job, a new boiler or a full system, where they compare three engineers over a week before choosing.

Your site serves both. Your number and an enquiry form sit on every screen for the breakdown. Pages for installs, servicing and repairs carry the detail for the planned job, with your Gas Safe registration where a customer will see it before they let anyone near their boiler.

Getting found for boiler and heating work

People type boiler service, boiler replacement, central heating repair or gas safety certificate, usually with a town on the end. Some search for a make, like a Worcester or a Vaillant boiler, as much as for the job.

You get a page for each job you want more of, written around those words. The titles, descriptions, sitemap and structured data go in when the site is built, so a search engine can see what you do and where you work. With the SEO add-on we put a new article up every week and link it back to those pages.

Gas Safe, accreditations and why a customer checks

Gas work has to be done by someone on the Gas Safe Register, and customers are told to check the engineer's ID card. Your registration number goes on the page where they look, along with what you're registered to work on. If you also work on oil, solid fuel or heat pumps, your OFTEC, HETAS or MCS details go next to it.

Insurance, manufacturer accreditations and your guarantee terms sit in the same place, in plain words. A customer deciding who comes into the house reads all of it before they ring.

How your heating website gets built

You answer a few questions about your business, the work you want more of and the areas you cover. A homepage design comes back, usually in under five minutes, and you look at it before anything else happens. There's no card and nothing to install.

Then one of our website specialists builds it out with you: a page for each job, your accreditations, your areas and your reviews, checked on a phone and a laptop, then live on your own domain. After that, a new service or a change of hours is a message to them. You pay nothing until the site goes live.

What happens when somebody gets in touch

Your enquiry form asks what you'd ask on the phone: what the appliance is, what it's doing, the address and whether the house has no heating or hot water. It can take photos too, which often shows you the boiler make and the flue before you set off.

The enquiry lands in your email within seconds. With the customer hub add-on it lands in your hub too, with a status you set to contacted, won or lost, so you can see who is still waiting for an answer after a day under floorboards.

Heating and gas engineers ask us

Can the site show my Gas Safe number?

Yes, and it should. Your registration number goes on the pages people read before they ring, with what you're registered to work on. Customers are told to check the engineer's Gas Safe ID card, so showing it up front saves them the worry.

Will it come up for "boiler service near me"?

Your site launches with a page for each of your main jobs, written around what your customers type. We put the technical bits in too: titles, descriptions, structured data and a sitemap, so Google can see what you do and where. Where you end up depends on your area and your competition, and it builds over months. The SEO and AI search add-on keeps adding new content every week, and Google Ads puts you at the top when you want calls straight away.

Can the site say which boilers I fit?

Yes. If you're an approved installer for a make, the badge and the make go on your boiler page, because plenty of people search for the brand as well as the job. Send your website specialist whatever you're registered for and they'll use it.

Is a landlord gas safety check worth a page of its own?

If you want more of that work, yes. Landlords and letting agents need a gas safety record every year, and they search for it with a town name and ring on price and how soon you can come. A page with your price and your turnaround answers both.

I only do heating and some plumbing. Does that work?

Yes. You say what you do and the site is built around it. If a job needs a different registration, such as unvented hot water cylinders or heat pumps, the page says what you hold and nothing more.

Can I put a service plan on the site?

You can describe it on a page, with what it covers and what it costs, and customers send an enquiry to sign up. Taking payment on the site is a bespoke build, so it isn't part of the standard plans. Tell us what you need and we'll talk it through with you.

Can people send photos of their boiler?

Yes. The enquiry form can ask for a photo of the boiler and its data plate. It saves you a wasted trip and it lets you say whether it's a repair or a replacement before you set off.

I'm on the tools all day. How much of my time is this?

About two minutes to answer the questions. Then your website specialist does the rest and calls you when it's ready. Most engineers are live within a week of signing up.

What if I add a service or fit a new make later?

Up to 10 service pages come with your website, one for each service you offer. Ask from your portal and it goes to your website specialist to write. Changes to your pages are a change request: you get one free every month after launch, and any more are £49.99 each, shown before you confirm.

How long until my website is live?

Complete your brief and we launch within 3 to 5 working days. Most heating and gas engineers are live within a week of signing up.

When do I start paying?

On the day your website goes live. You enter card details at signup, but nothing is charged before launch. If your site is ready and we do not hear from you for 14 days, we take the first payment, so your website specialist's work is not left sitting there. You can still go live whenever you are ready.

Is this a template?

No. Everything is built from scratch for your business: your words written, your logo and colours designed, your homepage laid out. One of our website specialists finishes the site with you before it goes live.

Do I need a card to see the design?

No. Answer a few questions and you will see a homepage design for your business in under five minutes. There is nothing to download, nothing to set up, and no card until you decide to go ahead.

Can I have a page for each job I do?

Yes, for the jobs you want more of. Tell your website specialist which those are. Each one gets its own page, written to be found for the words people type when they need it. Every plan includes up to 10, one for each service you offer, and you can ask for a new one from your portal at any time.
