Websites for physiotherapists

What a physiotherapy website has to do

People find a physio when something hurts. A runner has a knee that won't settle, someone has put their back out lifting a box, or a surgeon has said they'll need rehab. They search from their phone, often in pain, and book the first clinic that makes it easy.

So online booking goes in the middle of the site, with your first appointment, your follow ups and your prices behind it. Who you treat, your registration and where the clinic is go around it. The next free slot is one tap away.

Getting found for the injuries you want to treat

People type physio for back pain, sports injury physio, shoulder pain treatment, neck pain or physio after knee surgery, usually with a town on the end. Very few search for physiotherapy services.

You get a page for each condition or kind of treatment you want more of, written around the words people use for it. Titles, descriptions, a sitemap and structured data go in when we build the site, so a search engine can see what you treat and where your clinic is.

Registration, insurance and what a first appointment involves

Physiotherapist is a protected title in the UK, and every practising physio has to be registered with the HCPC. Your registration number goes on the site, with your Chartered Society of Physiotherapy membership if you have it, your insurance and the insurers that recognise you. People ask about all of it before they book.

So does what happens at a first appointment: how long it lasts, what you assess, what to wear and whether you need a GP referral (you usually don't). Your clinic address and parking go in the same place.

How your physiotherapy website gets built

Answer a few questions about your clinic, the conditions you treat and the hours you work. A homepage design comes back in under five minutes with online booking in it. You look at it first, with no card and nothing to install.

Then one of our website specialists builds it out with you. That's your treatments, appointment lengths, prices, registration and booking hours, checked on a phone and a laptop, then live on your own domain. After that, a new treatment or a new price is just a message. You pay nothing until the site goes live.

What happens when somebody books

Patients pick an initial assessment or a follow up and a slot that suits them, and the booking screen offers only what fits. A forty five minute assessment is never mixed up with a half hour follow up. You both get a confirmation email.

Your website specialist can have the booking ask where the problem is and how long they've had it, so you walk in knowing what to expect. Your week shows in your portal as a list and a calendar. Moving an appointment takes a click and emails the patient.

Physiotherapists ask us

How does the booking actually work?

You set the hours you're free and how long each appointment takes, and patients pick a slot on your website. You confirm it or move it in a click, and they get a confirmation email either way. There's nothing to install and no fee per booking.

Can I show my HCPC number and CSP membership?

Yes, and you should. Your HCPC registration, your Chartered Society of Physiotherapy membership and your insurance go on the page a patient reads before booking. Your website specialist puts them where people look.

Can I describe what I treat without making claims I can't back up?

Yes. Your website specialist writes what you treat and what happens in the appointment in plain words, and doesn't promise cures or results. Health claims in advertising are covered by the ASA's rules and your professional bodies have their own, so you read every page before it goes live.

Can patients book an initial assessment and a follow up differently?

Yes. An initial assessment of forty five minutes and a follow up of thirty can each have their own length and price, and the booking screen keeps your diary right because it knows how long each one really takes.

Do patients need a GP referral?

Usually not for private physiotherapy, but it varies with the insurer. Say what applies to your clinic on the booking page and your website specialist puts it in the right place, including which insurers you work with and whether patients need an authorisation code first.

Can I add exercise sheets or videos for patients?

You can link to exercise videos or pages that you host elsewhere, and your website specialist can add them to a page. A patient login with a programme of their own is a bespoke build, so tell us what you need and we'll talk it through with you.

What do I need for the booking system?

The customer hub add-on. The booking system and your enquiries live in it, and Google review requests are coming soon. It's monthly with no minimum term.

I work across a few clinics. Can the site cover that?

Yes. Each location can have its own page with its address, parking and hours, so people searching in one town find the clinic in that town. Tell your website specialist which days you are where.

How long until my website is live?

Complete your brief and we launch within 3 to 5 working days. Most physiotherapists are live within a week of signing up.

When do I start paying?

On the day your website goes live. You enter card details at signup, but nothing is charged before launch. If your site is ready and we do not hear from you for 14 days, we take the first payment, so your website specialist's work is not left sitting there. You can still go live whenever you are ready.

Is this a template?

No. Everything is built from scratch for your business: your words written, your logo and colours designed, your homepage laid out. One of our website specialists finishes the site with you before it goes live.

Do I need a card to see the design?

No. Answer a few questions and you will see a homepage design for your business in under five minutes. There is nothing to download, nothing to set up, and no card until you decide to go ahead.

Can I have a page for each job I do?

Yes, for the jobs you want more of. Tell your website specialist which those are. Each one gets its own page, written to be found for the words people type when they need it. Every plan includes up to 10, one for each service you offer, and you can ask for a new one from your portal at any time.
