Websites for yoga and pilates teachers

What a yoga or pilates teacher's website has to do

People book a class, not a teacher. They want Tuesday at half past six, or a Saturday morning mat session, and they're choosing on their phone with a timetable in one hand and a diary in the other. If they can't see what's on and book a place in a minute, they close the tab.

So your timetable and your booking go in the middle of the site, with your class types, your levels and your prices behind them. You set each class, how many places it has and when it runs, and people book into what's left. Who you are and how you teach goes around it.

Getting found for the class you want more of

People search for beginners yoga, reformer pilates, mat pilates, pregnancy yoga, back care pilates or a one to one session, almost always with a town or a village on the end. Hatha, vinyasa and yin mean something to you and nothing to someone who has never been to a class.

You get a page for each class or style you want more of, written around the words people type, with the ones a newcomer uses as well as the ones your studio uses. Page titles, descriptions, a sitemap and structured data go in when we build it, so a search engine can see what you teach and where.

Qualifications, insurance and what a first class is like

Your training, your insurance and any register you belong to go on the page in plain words. That might be a yoga teaching qualification recognised by the British Wheel of Yoga or Yoga Alliance Professionals, a matwork or reformer qualification from a pilates training body, or a place on the Register of Exercise Professionals. Say only what you hold.

A first-timer is nervous about being the only one who can't touch their toes. So the page says what to bring, what to wear, whether mats and props are provided, how to tell you about an injury or pregnancy, and that every level is welcome if it is. That answers most of the questions before they're asked.

How your yoga or pilates website gets built

You answer a few questions about your classes, your venue and the days you teach. A homepage design comes back in under five minutes with booking built in. You look at it first, with no card and nothing to install.

Then one of our website specialists builds it out with you: your timetable, your class pages, your prices, your qualifications and your venue, checked on a phone and a laptop, then live on your own domain. After that, a new class or a changed time is a message to them. You pay nothing until the site goes live.

What happens when somebody books a class

They choose the class and the day, and the booking screen shows what's free. A small reformer class with six machines stops taking bookings at six, so you never turn up to a seventh person with nowhere to go. You both get a confirmation email.

The booking can ask the questions you'd ask at the door: whether they have an injury, whether they're pregnant and whether they've done this before. Your week shows in your portal as a list and a calendar, and moving or cancelling a class emails everyone booked into it.

Yoga and pilates teachers ask us

How does the booking actually work?

You set your classes, the days they run and how many places each one has, and students pick a class on your website. You confirm a booking or move it in a click, and they get a confirmation email either way. There's nothing to install and no fee per booking.

I teach in a village hall and a studio. Can both go on one timetable?

Yes. Each class has its own venue, address and parking note, so someone looking at Thursday evening sees where it is before they book. If you teach in more than one town, your website specialist can give each area a page of its own.

Can a class have a limit on places?

Yes. Set the number of places for each class and the booking screen stops offering it when it's full. That suits a reformer class with a set number of machines as much as a small mat class with room for ten.

Can people ask about an injury or pregnancy when they book?

Your booking form can ask the questions you'd ask at the door, and the answers arrive with the booking so you see them before the class. If you need anything longer or more medical than that, tell your website specialist what you need and they'll talk it through with you.

Can I show my qualifications and the register I'm on?

Yes, and you should. Your website specialist puts your training, your insurance and any register you belong to on the page a student reads before booking. Send them what you actually hold, as it is written on your certificates, and only that goes on.

Can I sell class passes or a course of six weeks?

You can list the prices and the dates of a course on the site, and students can book it. Taking payment on the site, for a pass or a course, is a bespoke build, so it isn't part of the standard plans. Tell us what you need and we'll talk it through with you.

What do I need for the booking system?

The customer hub add-on. The booking system and your enquiries live in it, and Google review requests are coming soon. It's monthly with no minimum term.

Do I need a page for each style, or one page for all of it?

A page for each, if you want more of each. Someone searching for pregnancy yoga isn't looking for vinyasa, and one page covering everything matches neither search well. Your website specialist writes each page around the words that class's students use.

How long until my website is live?

Complete your brief and we launch within 3 to 5 working days. Most yoga and pilates teachers are live within a week of signing up.

When do I start paying?

On the day your website goes live. You enter card details at signup, but nothing is charged before launch. If your site is ready and we do not hear from you for 14 days, we take the first payment, so your website specialist's work is not left sitting there. You can still go live whenever you are ready.

Is this a template?

No. Everything is built from scratch for your business: your words written, your logo and colours designed, your homepage laid out. One of our website specialists finishes the site with you before it goes live.

Do I need a card to see the design?

No. Answer a few questions and you will see a homepage design for your business in under five minutes. There is nothing to download, nothing to set up, and no card until you decide to go ahead.

Can I have a page for each job I do?

Yes, for the jobs you want more of. Tell your website specialist which those are. Each one gets its own page, written to be found for the words people type when they need it. Every plan includes up to 10, one for each service you offer, and you can ask for a new one from your portal at any time.
