Websites for tattoo artists
What a tattoo artist website has to do
People pick a tattoo artist by the work, then by whether the studio feels safe. They scroll your portfolio for a style they want on their skin for life, and only then look for how to book, what it costs and what happens at the first appointment.
So your portfolio goes first, sorted by style, and the booking sits beside it. Who you are, how you work and what the studio is like go around it. Many first-timers are nervous, and a site that explains the process takes the edge off before they walk in.
Getting found for the style you want more of
People search for the style, not just the profession: fine line tattoo, blackwork, traditional, realism, Japanese, cover-up tattoo or small tattoo, with a town on the end. Others type tattoo artist near me and choose from the first few they see.
You get a page for each style you want more of, with your best work on it and written around those words. The titles, descriptions, sitemap and structured data go in when we build the site, so a search engine can see what you do and where the studio is.
Hygiene, registration and what happens first
A customer who has never been tattooed wants to know the studio is clean and licensed. Your council registration or licence, how you sterilise and dispose of equipment, your single-use needles and your age policy go on the site in plain words. Tattooing anyone under 18 is illegal in the UK, and saying so up front saves awkward conversations.
So does what happens before and after: how a consultation works, how to prepare, what the aftercare is and what you do about touch-ups. Written once on the site, it saves you answering the same message fifty times.
How your tattoo website gets built
Answer a few questions about your studio, the styles you work in and the hours you keep. A homepage design comes back in under five minutes with online booking in it. You look at it first, with no card and nothing to install.
Then one of our website specialists builds it out with you: your portfolio, a page for each style, your studio details and your booking hours, checked on a phone and a laptop, then live on your own domain. After that, new flash or a new style is a message to them. You pay nothing until the site goes live.
What happens when somebody books
The standard booking handles appointment slots: clients pick a time that fits the hours you set, and you both get a confirmation email. That suits small pieces, flash days and the slot for a consultation.
Tattoos often need more than a slot, such as a consultation request with reference images, a deposit to hold a date and a quote after you've seen the idea. Taking payment and a full consultation and deposit flow is a bespoke build, so it isn't part of the standard plans. Tell us how you work and we'll talk it through with you.
Tattoo artists ask us
How does the booking actually work?
You set the hours you're free and how long each type of appointment runs, and clients pick a slot on your website. You confirm it or move it in a click, and they get a confirmation email either way. There's nothing to install and no fee per booking.
Can I take consultation requests and deposits?
The standard booking handles appointment slots, including a slot for a consultation. A consultation request with reference images, a deposit to hold a date and payment on the site are a bespoke build, so they aren't part of the standard plans. Tell us how you work and we'll talk it through with you.
Can the site show my portfolio by style?
Yes, and it should come first. Your best work goes on a page for each style, so a customer who wants blackwork sees blackwork. Send your website specialist your photos and a line on each piece and they go on properly, sized and captioned.
Can I show my council registration and how the studio works?
Yes, and many customers look for it. Your registration or licence, how you sterilise, your single-use needles and your waste disposal go on the page in plain words. Send your website specialist the details and they'll write it up.
Do I need a page for each tattoo style?
For the styles you want more of, yes. Fine line and traditional are different searches from different customers, and each page can bring its own bookings. If you only work in one style, the portfolio and one strong page do the job.
Can I list flash designs that are available?
Yes. A flash page shows what's on offer, with the size and the price if you want it there. When a design is taken or a flash day is over, send a message to your website specialist and it comes off.
Can the site explain aftercare and touch-ups?
Yes. Your aftercare advice and your touch-up policy go on one page, written once in your words. It means clients arrive knowing what to do, and fewer messages ask you a question the site has already answered.
How do I deal with under 18s and walk-ins?
The site states your age policy plainly, and tattooing under 18s is illegal, so it's easy to say so. If you take walk-ins, the opening hours and the walk-in days go on the site too, and online booking only offers the slots you choose.
What do I need for the booking system?
The customer hub add-on. The booking system and your enquiries live in it, and Google review requests are coming soon. It's monthly with no minimum term.
How long until my website is live?
Complete your brief and we launch within 3 to 5 working days. Most tattoo artists are live within a week of signing up.
When do I start paying?
On the day your website goes live. You enter card details at signup, but nothing is charged before launch. If your site is ready and we do not hear from you for 14 days, we take the first payment, so your website specialist's work is not left sitting there. You can still go live whenever you are ready.
Is this a template?
No. Everything is built from scratch for your business: your words written, your logo and colours designed, your homepage laid out. One of our website specialists finishes the site with you before it goes live.
Do I need a card to see the design?
No. Answer a few questions and you will see a homepage design for your business in under five minutes. There is nothing to download, nothing to set up, and no card until you decide to go ahead.
Can I have a page for each job I do?
Yes, for the jobs you want more of. Tell your website specialist which those are. Each one gets its own page, written to be found for the words people type when they need it. Every plan includes up to 10, one for each service you offer, and you can ask for a new one from your portal at any time.
