Common questions
Do I own my website and domain?
Your words, photos and logo are always yours. Your website and domain are yours after 12 months. If you leave after that with nothing owed, we transfer the domain to you, and if you ask we export your website and send you a copy. If you leave before 12 months, the website comes down, we do not send a copy, and a domain we registered for you stays with us. A domain you already owned is always yours.
Is there a contract?
No. There's no minimum term: cancel any time and your plan stops at the end of that billing month. Your website and domain become yours after 12 months. Leave before then and the site comes down, and a domain we registered for you stays with us. The add-ons have no minimum term either, so you can switch them off any month.
How long until my site is live?
Complete your brief and we'll launch within 3 to 5 working days. Most customers are live within a week of signing up.
What if I don't like it?
Your website specialist keeps changing it until you are happy. Tell them what you want and they will do it.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. We point your existing domain at the new site. If you would rather have a new one, we register it and pay for it.
What happens to my site if I cancel?
Your plan stops at the end of the billing month and the site goes offline then. After 12 months the site and domain are yours: we'll help move the domain and can send you a copy of the site. Before 12 months, a domain we registered stays with us.
Do I need a card to see my designs?
No. Answer a few questions and you will see a homepage design for your business in under five minutes. There is nothing to download, nothing to set up, and no card until you decide to go ahead.
Is this a template?
No. Everything is built from scratch for your business: your words written, your logo and colours designed, your homepage laid out. One of our website specialists finishes the site with you before it goes live.
Who actually builds my website?
One of our website specialists builds it: refining the design, adding your photos and words, checking it on every device, talking it through with you and getting it live. The same website specialist stays with you after launch. Webby, our own software, does the groundwork so they can spend their time on the part that needs a person.
What is included in the website?
Your website, a free domain, hosting, an SSL certificate, automated backups and website analytics. Every page goes live set up to be found on Google. You also get the website specialist who builds it and stays with you afterwards. Business email addresses on your own domain are added per mailbox.
How many pages does my website have?
Up to 20 main pages. The SEO add-on adds a blog section, where its weekly SEO articles are published.
Can I see how many people visit my website?
Yes, it's included. Your portal shows your visitors, where they came from and which pages they read. It uses no cookies and records nothing that identifies anybody, so your visitors are never asked to accept anything.
I already have a website. Can you replace it?
Yes. We build you a new one, keeping the bits that work and fixing the bits that do not. We do not just copy the old site across. Put the address in your brief and your website specialist will go through it with you.
How many services can my website cover?
Up to 10, each with its own page targeting a keyword your customers search for. That covers most businesses. If you offer more, talk to your website specialist and they will work out the best way to cover it with you.
