Websites for plumbers

What a plumbing website has to do

People find a plumber in two ways. They search, typing something like emergency plumber, boiler repair or bathroom fitting with their town, and ring one of the first few results. Or they land on your site and spend about thirty seconds looking for a number, a price guide or a reason to pick you.

You get a page for each job you want more of, so the search has something to match. Your number and a quote form sit on every screen, so ringing is easy. Your Gas Safe registration and your reviews go where a nervous customer will see them before they let a stranger into the house.

Getting found for plumbing work in your area

People type emergency plumber near me, boiler not firing up or combi boiler replacement cost, usually with a postcode or a town on the end. One services page covering everything you do won't match any of those properly.

Your website specialist asks which jobs you want more of and writes a page for each, using the words people use for that job. Page titles, descriptions, a sitemap and structured data go in when we build it, so Google can see what you do and where. With the SEO add-on we put a new article up every week and link it back to those pages.

What people look for before they ring a plumber

Plumbing gets bought in a hurry, often on a phone, and often by someone who's never hired a plumber before. They want to know if you cover their area, if you do the job and if they can trust you in their house.

So the areas you cover go on the site in plain text. Bathroom and boiler galleries show jobs you've finished, not stock photos. Your Gas Safe number, your public liability cover and your reviews sit on the pages people read before they ring, not at the bottom of an about page. And because nearly all of this happens on a phone, the site is built to load fast on one.

How your plumbing website gets built

You answer a few questions about your business, the jobs you want more of and the areas you cover. A homepage design comes back, usually in under five minutes, and you look at it before anything else happens. There's no card and nothing to install.

That's a first draft, and from there we do the work. Your website specialist changes anything you want, the words, photos, colours and layout, and builds every page: your home page, a page for each job you want more of and the rest, with your Gas Safe details where they count. We check it on a phone and a laptop, then it goes live on your own domain.

Your website specialist stays with you afterwards, so adding a service or changing your hours is a message to them, not something you have to learn. You pay nothing until the site goes live.

What happens when somebody gets in touch

Every page has your number and a quote form, and you tell your website specialist which one goes first. The form asks what you'd ask on the phone: the job, the address and whether it's an emergency. It can ask for photos too, which is often enough to price a leak or a bathroom without going out.

The enquiry lands in your email within seconds. With the customer hub add-on it lands in your hub too, with a status you can set to contacted, won or lost, so you can see who's still waiting for an answer. Your website specialist sets the questions up with you before launch and changes them whenever you ask.

Plumbers ask us

Will it actually rank for "plumber near me"?

Your site launches with a page for each of your main services, written around what your customers type. We put the technical bits in too: titles, descriptions, structured data and a sitemap, so Google can see what you do and where. Where you end up depends on your area and your competition. The SEO and AI search add-on keeps adding new content every week, and it builds over months, not days. For calls straight away, Google Ads puts you at the top, and Google Maps helps you show up on the map for plumber near me.

I already get enough work from Checkatrade.

Fair enough. A website is yours either way. The enquiries come straight to you, there's nothing to pay per enquiry, and it keeps working alongside whatever else you use.

I'm on the tools all day. How much of my time is this?

About two minutes to answer the questions. Then your website specialist does the rest and calls you when it's ready. Most plumbers are live within a week of signing up.

Can I show my Gas Safe number and my insurance?

Yes. Your registration number, your insurance and your reviews go on the pages people read before they ring.

Can people request a quote from the site?

Yes. There's a quote form on every page and the enquiry lands in your inbox. With the customer hub add-on it lands in your hub too, with a status against it. You can send a quote your customer accepts online, and the job goes in your calendar, so nothing sits unanswered.

What should a one-man plumbing business start with?

The website. You get a professional site with a page for each job you want more of and your own domain, and a business email address is added per mailbox. Add the customer hub when you want your enquiries, quotes and bookings in one place. Review requests are coming soon.

Should emergency work have a page of its own?

Usually, yes, and it's often the page that earns the most. People searching at eleven at night type different words from people planning a bathroom, so your website specialist writes that page around the night-time words and puts your number at the top. Tell them your hours and your call-out charge and both go on it.

Can the site say which boilers I fit?

Yes. If you're an accredited installer for a make, the badge and the make go on your boiler page, because plenty of people search for the brand as well as the job. Send your website specialist whatever you're registered for and they'll use it.

I do landlord certificates. Is that worth a page?

Yes, if you want more of that work. Landlords search for a gas safety certificate and a town name, and they ring based on price and how soon you can come. A page with your price and your turnaround on it answers both.

Can I add a service later?

Yes. Up to 10 service pages come with your website, one for each service you offer. Ask from your portal whenever you like and it goes to your website specialist to write. Tell them the job and the words you want it found for.

How long until my website is live?

Complete your brief and we launch within 3 to 5 working days. Most plumbers are live within a week of signing up.

When do I start paying?

On the day your website goes live. You enter card details at signup, but nothing is charged before launch. If your site is ready and we do not hear from you for 14 days, we take the first payment, so your website specialist's work is not left sitting there. You can still go live whenever you are ready.

Is this a template?

No. Everything is built from scratch for your business: your words written, your logo and colours designed, your homepage laid out. One of our website specialists finishes the site with you before it goes live.

Do I need a card to see the design?

No. Answer a few questions and you will see a homepage design for your business in under five minutes. There is nothing to download, nothing to set up, and no card until you decide to go ahead.

Can I have a page for each job I do?

Yes, for the jobs you want more of. Tell your website specialist which those are. Each one gets its own page, written to be found for the words people type when they need it. Your website includes up to 10, one for each service you offer, and you can ask for a new one from your portal at any time.
