Websites for florists

What a florist's website has to do

People buy flowers for a reason and a date. A birthday on Friday, a funeral next week, a wedding in June, Mother's Day. They search on a phone, often the day before, and they want to see what you make, whether you can deliver to the address and who to ask.

So your best work goes at the top, with your arrangements grouped by occasion, and an enquiry form that asks for the date and the delivery postcode. Your number sits on every screen for the people who would sooner ring.

Getting found for the occasion, not just the word florist

People search for wedding flowers, funeral flowers, flower delivery or bouquets, usually with a town on the end. A single page about your shop won't match any of them well.

You get a page for each kind of work you want more of, written around the words people type for it. Titles, descriptions, a sitemap and structured data go in when the site is built, so Google can see what you make and where you deliver. With the SEO add-on we put a new article up every week, ready for the dates your year turns on.

What people need to know before they ask

Somebody ordering flowers for a stranger's funeral, or planning a wedding, is nervous about getting it wrong. They want to see real work, know the areas you deliver to and how much notice you need, and feel they can describe what they want without sounding silly.

The towns and postcodes you deliver to go on the site in plain text, along with your notice for orders, your opening days and your shop address if you have one. Photographs of flowers you made, not stock images, do most of the selling.

How your florist website gets built

You answer a few questions about your business, the kind of work you want more of and where you deliver. A homepage design comes back, usually in under five minutes, and you look at it before anything else happens. There's no card and nothing to install.

That's a first draft, and from there we do the work. Your website specialist builds the home page, a page for each kind of work, your galleries and the rest, changes anything you ask for, and checks it on a phone and a laptop before it goes live on your own domain.

They stay with you afterwards, so a new seasonal range or a change to your Christmas opening hours is a message, not something you have to learn. You pay nothing until the site goes live.

What happens when somebody gets in touch

Your enquiry form asks what you would ask over the counter: what the flowers are for, the date, the delivery address or the venue, a rough budget and any colours. It can take photos too, which helps when somebody has a picture of what they want.

The enquiry lands in your email within seconds. With the customer hub add-on it lands in your hub too, with a status you can set to contacted, won or lost, so a wedding enquiry sent on a Sunday night isn't forgotten by Wednesday.

Florists ask us

Will it actually rank for "florist near me"?

Your site launches with a page for each kind of work you want more of, written around what people type, with the titles, descriptions, structured data and sitemap Google needs to see what you do and where. Where you end up depends on your area and your competition. Google Maps helps you show up on the map for florist near me, the SEO and AI search add-on keeps adding content every week, and Google Ads puts you at the top for the searches that can't wait.

I get my orders through Interflora or a flower delivery app.

Many florists do. Your own website is yours either way. Enquiries come straight to you, there's no commission on them, and it keeps working alongside whatever else you use.

Can people order and pay for flowers on the site?

Taking payment on the site is a bespoke build, so it isn't part of the standard plans. What the standard site does is take an enquiry with the date, the address and what they want, and you reply with a price. If you need online ordering, tell us what you need and we'll talk it through with you.

Can the form ask for the delivery date and postcode?

Yes. Your website specialist sets the questions up with you before launch: what the flowers are for, the date, the delivery postcode, a budget and the message for the card. Change them whenever you like.

Should weddings and funerals have separate pages?

Yes. They are different customers in different frames of mind, searching with different words. A wedding page shows your galleries and how you work with a couple. A funeral page is plainer, with how much notice you need and how you deal with the funeral director. Each can carry its own form.

Can the site cope with Valentine's Day and Mother's Day?

Yes. Send your website specialist the dates, your last orders and what you're offering, and they put a seasonal page up and take it down again afterwards. It's a change request. You get one free every month after launch, and any more are £49.99 each, shown before you confirm.

I only have photos from my phone. Is that enough?

For most florists, yes. Flowers photographed in natural light on a phone look good, and your website specialist crops, sizes and captions them. If you can, photograph an arrangement before it leaves the shop and note what went in it.

I do regular flowers for offices and cafes. Can the site say so?

Yes. A page for businesses, saying what you supply, how often and where, is a good way to bring in regular work, and the form can ask how often they want flowers and for how many sites.

Can I add a service later?

Yes. Up to 10 service pages come with your website, one for each kind of work you offer. Ask from your portal whenever you like and it goes to your website specialist to write.

How long until my website is live?

Complete your brief and we launch within 3 to 5 working days. Most florists are live within a week of signing up.

When do I start paying?

On the day your website goes live. You enter card details at signup, but nothing is charged before launch. If your site is ready and we do not hear from you for 14 days, we take the first payment, so your website specialist's work is not left sitting there. You can still go live whenever you are ready.

Is this a template?

No. Everything is built from scratch for your business: your words written, your logo and colours designed, your homepage laid out. One of our website specialists finishes the site with you before it goes live.

Do I need a card to see the design?

No. Answer a few questions and you will see a homepage design for your business in under five minutes. There is nothing to download, nothing to set up, and no card until you decide to go ahead.

Can I have a page for each job I do?

Yes, for the jobs you want more of. Tell your website specialist which those are. Each one gets its own page, written to be found for the words people type when they need it. Every plan includes up to 10, one for each service you offer, and you can ask for a new one from your portal at any time.
