What a flooring and tiling website has to do
A floor is chosen with the eyes and priced by the square metre. Somebody wants to see what oak looks like in a room like theirs, whether the tile is the right size for a small bathroom and roughly what it costs, before they invite anyone round to measure.
So the pictures come first: floors and walls you have laid, grouped by material, with a clear way to ask for a quote. Beside them go what you fit, whether you supply the flooring or fit what the customer bought, and how you prepare the subfloor.
Getting found for the floor or tile you want more of
People search for the material and the town, like laminate flooring fitter, wood floor sanding, LVT installation, porcelain tiler or wet room tiling. A carpet fitter and a tiler are looked for by different people at different points in a renovation.
You get a page for each job you want more of, written around those words. The titles, descriptions, sitemap and structured data go in when the site is built, so a search engine can see what you do and where you work. With the SEO add-on we put a new article up every week and link it back to those pages.
What a customer wants settled before you start
Flooring goes wrong in the preparation, not the laying, and customers know it. They want to hear that you check the subfloor for level and damp, how you handle underfloor heating and how long the room is out of use.
Say it on the page, along with whether you move furniture, take up and dispose of the old floor and bring your own materials. If you belong to a trade body, such as the National Institute of Carpet and Floorlayers or the Contract Flooring Association, name it, and show your public liability insurance.
How your flooring website gets built
You answer a few questions about your business, the floors and tiling you do and the areas you cover. A homepage design comes back, usually in under five minutes, and you look at it before anything else happens. There's no card and nothing to install.
Then one of our website specialists builds it out with you: your galleries, a page for each material, your accreditations and your reviews, checked on a phone and a laptop, then live on your own domain. After that, new photos or a new service is a message to them. You pay nothing until the site goes live.
What happens when somebody gets in touch
Your enquiry form asks what you'd ask on the phone: which rooms, the material they have in mind, the rough floor area and what's down at the moment. It can take photos of the room, which often shows you the subfloor problem before you visit.
The enquiry lands in your email within seconds. With the customer hub add-on it lands in your hub too, with a status you set to contacted, won or lost, and a quote your customer can accept online, so a measure and quote doesn't slip a week.
Flooring and tiling specialists ask us
Can I show galleries of floors and tiling I've finished?
Yes, and they're the best thing on the site. Send your website specialist the photos with a line about each job, the material and the room, and they go on in galleries sized for a phone and captioned.
Will it come up for "floor fitter near me"?
Your site launches with a page for each of your main jobs, written around what your customers type. We put the technical bits in too: titles, descriptions, structured data and a sitemap, so Google can see what you do and where. Where you end up depends on your area and your competition, and it builds over months. Google Maps helps you show up on the map, and Google Ads puts you at the top when you want calls straight away.
I fit floors and do tiling. One site or two?
One. People searching for a wood floor and people searching for a wet room tiler are different, so each material gets its own page, but they share your name, your reviews and your enquiry form. A customer who needs both sees that you do both.
Can the site explain subfloor preparation?
Yes, and it earns trust. A short page on how you check for level and damp, when you screed or lay boards and what you do over underfloor heating shows a customer that you'll do the dull part properly. Your website specialist writes it from what you tell them.
I only fit what the customer buys. Can the site say so?
Yes. Say whether you supply, fit only or both, and the page answers the first question most people ask. If you have a supplier you recommend, it can say that too.
Can customers send photos and measurements?
Yes. The enquiry form can ask for the rooms, the rough area in square metres and a photo of the current floor. That's enough to give a ballpark and decide whether you need to visit to measure.
Can I sell flooring on the site?
Selling flooring and taking payment on the site is a bespoke build, so it isn't part of the standard plans. Tell us what you need and we'll talk it through with you. Most fitters start with galleries and quote requests, which are included.
How do I add new jobs to the galleries?
Send the photos to your website specialist from your portal and they're added. That's a change request. You get one free every month after launch, and any more are £49.99 each, shown before you confirm.
How long until my website is live?
Complete your brief and we launch within 3 to 5 working days. Most flooring and tiling specialists are live within a week of signing up.
When do I start paying?
On the day your website goes live. You enter card details at signup, but nothing is charged before launch. If your site is ready and we do not hear from you for 14 days, we take the first payment, so your website specialist's work is not left sitting there. You can still go live whenever you are ready.
Is this a template?
No. Everything is built from scratch for your business: your words written, your logo and colours designed, your homepage laid out. One of our website specialists finishes the site with you before it goes live.
Do I need a card to see the design?
No. Answer a few questions and you will see a homepage design for your business in under five minutes. There is nothing to download, nothing to set up, and no card until you decide to go ahead.
Can I have a page for each job I do?
Yes, for the jobs you want more of. Tell your website specialist which those are. Each one gets its own page, written to be found for the words people type when they need it. Every plan includes up to 10, one for each service you offer, and you can ask for a new one from your portal at any time.
